Snow day, Snow day, Snow day, oh wait, one more snow day!

Monday night started the mother of all snow/ice storms around here. I've been off of school since. I just found out that we're off again tomorrow which takes it to four days in a row. I can't leave the house because the roads are STILL horrible. Chris has been going to work but has been taking a rental car home since his truck tends to suck in these conditions. To avoid appearing too "complainy," our power hasn't gone out at all! Apparently Clermont County has been the worst with this.

I found out today that the father of one of my students was killed in a head on collision during the worst of the snow/ice on Wednesday. As I've said to everyone, I would never wish horrible things like this to anyone, I can't believe that it always seems to happen to the sweetest kids. I'm keeping her family in my thoughts and prayers and hope that they find the strength to make it through this difficult situation.

On a lighter note, the pups absolutely love it out in the snow. Molly loves when snow gets kicked up on her and tries to eat it every time. Maggie practically hides in the 7.5 inches of snow and eats ice packs that she finds. Most of the time she even refuses to come inside until someone mentions the word "hungry." I tried to take pictures to show what it really looks like out there but apparently I've left my camera at school (not a good place for it to be right now!)

Ok, I'm off to cook our final meal in the house. We better be able to get food tomorrow night or we'll be borrowing from the dog:)

Back to School...

After having the past two weeks off to celebrate the holidays, it's now time to go back. I was just telling someone a few days ago how I used to look forward to going back to school after breaks. That just doesn't seem to be the case this year. It's not that I don't like teaching this year or anything, I would just much rather sit around the house and relax!

Chris's dad came over yesterday and together, he and Chris, relocated our drier vent. Before this, our drier had to vent at the top of our house which is at least 30 feet high, if not more. Instead, it has now been redirected through the garage and out the house. I did a load of laundry yesterday to test it out. Instead of taking 3 hours to dry...it only took 1!! So exciting!
