I'm Pathetic

So how pathetic am I for already thinking about Ethan's 1st birthday?!  Rhetorical question...don't answer.  I am by no means really looking forward to it.  I want my little guy to stay a little baby longer but I've run into the.best.inspiration in the past few days and I am gung ho with my internet searches.

How about Dr. Seuss???!!!  I've seen so much cute stuff already and Ethan would be so stinking cute with the decorations.  Here's a sampling of some things I've seen:

You HAVE to let me know if you run across any cute Dr. Seuss party supplies!!

Tybee Island

Beach condo, in grown salt water pool, nearby ocean, relaxation!!!!  Our Tybee Island vacation was absolutely wonderful!

My little family spent this past week with Dad, Linda, Steve, and Josh in Georgia floating along in the pool, sunning ourselves beach side, and exploring the historic sights of Tybee Island and Savannah.
(Ethan really did enjoy the beach and the ocean.  Nap time was approaching quickly!)

We explored battle ridden forts and trolleyed through cobblestone streets to catch a glimpse of historic Savannah.

Ethan was so exhausted after the two hour trolley ride that he fell asleep right on my shoulder.

Our beach condo was perfect for morning snuggle sessions, fragrant flowers, and and evening swims under the stars.

I'm so thrilled we had the opportunity to spend this time as a family.

And just because my child is so stinking cute, I'll leave you with a few more pictures of my little water bug!

7 Months!

Ethan, you're 7 months old!!!  You're getting to be such a big boy, independent in exploring the world, and learning just how to get things gone the way you want.  I wish we could freeze time right where it is and keep you at this age just a while longer.

Just yesterday you went to the doctor for your first sick visit and you now weigh 18 lbs. 7 oz.  You're fighting an ear infection that is making you feel absolutely miserable.  The doctor has put you on antibiotics and fever medicine and now we're just waiting for everything to run its course.

Your bedtime has pushed back anywhere between 7:30-8:00.  Daddy especially likes this because it allows him more time to play with you after getting home from work.  Mommy usually likes the extra time as well unless you start getting cranky from being up too late.  After laying you in the crib, we attempt to give you a paci and have you cuddle with Mr. Seahorse but you really don't like the paci anymore.  In fact, you typically refuse to take it for me.  After laying you down in the crib, you immediately flip over onto your belly and sleep that way for the remainder of the night.

We have completely removed the dreamfeed at night so now you get your last feeding before bed around 7:00 or so.  You typically sleep through the night without needing to be fed again.  However, you did wake up a few nights this past week but I'm thinking that is mostly due to getting sick.

Lately you've been waking up about two hours after going to sleep, screaming as if you are in pain.  Mommy and Daddy pick you up, pat your back, rock you but none of it seems to work.  Mommy ultimately nurses you back to sleep but it's very sad nonetheless.

You've experimented with tons of new foods this month:  peas, green beans, bananas, mango, peach, etc.  So far it's been a positive experience.  At this point your absolute favorite food has to be avocado.  As soon as the fruit touches your mouth, you turn into a little baby bird begging for more.  Most people are shocked to know you eat avocado but many people actually recommend it as a first food.  I think you'd agree.

Naps have once again become an issue this month.  Before getting sick, you were down to taking 1 nap a day!  1 nap!  And that nap only lasted about an hour!  You were waking up cranky, Momma was cranky due to a lack in breaks, and things just were not good overall.  I guess we can consider the whole napping issue a positive side effect of getting sick.  Since getting sick, you've napped most of the day away.  I know this is a way for your little body to heal itself but I know it is what you need right now.

You are now wearing mostly 6-9 month clothes and size 3 diapers.
Ethan, you've become such a mobile little guy this month.  You've perfected rolling all over a room just to touch whatever object happened to catch your eye at the moment.  You especially love rolling over to the dogs and touching their paws.  We've even seen you list your entire body off the ground a few times to form a sort of bridge.  I have a sneaking suspicion we'll have a crawler on our hands in no time at all!
This past month we celebrated Mother's Day together for the first time.  It was a special day and I am so blessed to have such a  sweet little boy to celebrate the day with.

You also went swimming in the baby pool for the first time.  The water was REALLY cold but you had a great time splashing around and kicking.  I hope you enjoy our big pool this much.

In just a few days we'll be leaving for your very first vacation to the beach.  We'll be visiting Uncle Steve in Tybee Island, Georgia where you'll be seeing the beach for the first time ever.  Updates are to follow!

Poor Little Man

 *****Edited 6/8*************88

Ethan's not feeling well.  Momma took the day off work to make him feel better.  Yesterday morning E had a slight temperature but nothing too concerning.  By the time I picked him up yesterday afternoon, it had risen to 101 at some point.  After continuous rounds of Tylenol and Motrin, the fever dropped but Little Man just isn't himself this morning.  When I woke him, he just kept crying...even after eating.  He's normally such a happy little boy in the morning so I knew he still wasn't feeling well.  I called in while Chris and Ethan snuggled.  Hopefully Little Guy feels better soon.

Turns out Ethan had his very first ear infection :(  He has to take antibiotics for 10 days and should be feeling better in no time.
